Details: Transportation / Trucking Claims Manager  Plans, directs, and coordinates claims processing, underwriting and administration. Responsible for property, bodily injury, physical damage, subrogation and the (IRC) Incident Response Center.  Utilize claims policies and guidelines determine liability and compensability, secure information and negotiate and settle claims. To manage the operation for all areas of claims department including but not limited to proper staffing for all areas of responsibility.SECTION II - ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Case intake and investigation; communicating with insurance companies; requesting and summarizing records and overall case management. Work with legal staff to provide counsel to the Division senior leadership executives on all legal and risk matters impacting their areas of responsibility. Provide support to corporate in-house litigators with respect to all claims litigation matters affecting the Division. Direct & manage day-to-day activities of analysts to ensure all risks are properly analyzed and processed within time standards. This may include Accepted & retro premiums, claims, refunds, accounts payable and cash flow management. Anticipate and guard against legal risks involving the company and Division. Utilizes negotiation skills to develop complex settlement packages. Identifies claims with third party recovery potential. Partner with management to align and manage expectations between and the business units. Enhance systems handling of operational processing - eliminate manual processing to ensure consistency and accuracy of activity. Serve as project resource on system enhancement opportunities. Create, implement and maintain financial and management controls to meet the companies control requirements and corporate risk management standards. Maintain robust processes for month end, quarter end, & year-end data collections, reporting and variance reporting process. Create, implement and maintain risk-based process metrics for operational processing and create strategic/tactical strategies supporting continuous improvement.
